2010 Annual Report
As Associated Electric Cooperative celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2011, it highlights the six generation and
transmission cooperatives (G&Ts) that formed Associated in 1961. The G&Ts bring strengths to Associated
that ensure its success in these challenging times, including member governance that keeps it focused on its
mission; operation and maintenance of the high-voltage transmission system to ensure reliability and compliance;
legislative, governmental, industry and community relations; interconnections and relationships with neighboring
utilities; and additional low-cost generation to its resources.
These strengths were evident in 2010, an excellent year for Associated, as the cooperative continued to diversify
its generation resources, to focus on its mission, to return a sound financial performance and to continue to
position itself to meet the challenges ahead while continuing to be member systems’ best wholesale power supply option.
