For the past four years, the first face visitors saw or the voice callers heard at Associated Electric Cooperative Inc.’s headquarters in Springfield belonged to Sandy Raper. After 17 years with the cooperative, a wholesale power supplier for rural electric cooperatives in Missouri, she recently retired as an office assistant III in the Human Resources Division.
Working at the front desk, Raper operated the switchboard and welcomed visitors. She also managed the auto pool and handled a variety of other tasks for the Human Resources Division.
Raper started at AECI in July 1989 as a clerk in the purchasing department. She was promoted four times, changing to office assistant III in November 2000, the position from which she recently retired.
Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. is owned by and provides wholesale power to six regional and 51 local electric cooperative systems in Missouri, southeast Iowa and northeast Oklahoma that serve more than 800,000 customers. AECI’s mission is to provide an economical and reliable power supply and support services to its members with the vision of being the nation’s lowest-cost wholesale power supplier. AECI is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
