Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. (AECI) recently highlighted employees’ achievements and contributions to the cooperative’s success during its annual employee recognition event in April. Among those recognized were AECI employees at Thomas Hill Energy Center celebrating service anniversaries. Marking 35 years with the cooperative are Fred Contratto, assistant plant chemist, and Bernard Nichols, instrumentation superintendent. Employees celebrating 30 years with AECI this year are Steve Brandow, senior mechanical maintenance supervisor; Danny Hayes, electrical maintenance supervisor; Delbert Land, journeyman mechanic; Don McVay, maintenance planner; Jim Morgan, senior office associate; Tab Powell, senior performance specialist; Tim Price, plant chemist; Jim Summers, shift supervisor; Randy Taylor, journeyman electrician specialist; and Thane Thornburg, training coordinator. Reaching their 25th year of service with the cooperative in 2008 are Danny Hess, shift supervisor; Lawrence D. Sharp, journeyman mechanic; Roy Smothers, control room operator with training; and Larry Wolfe, journeyman mechanic. Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. is owned by and provides wholesale power to six regional and 51 local electric cooperative systems in Missouri, southeast Iowa and northeast Oklahoma that serve more than 850,000 customers.
