Officers

Associated Electric Cooperative President O.B. Clark brings to AECI's board of directors decades of service on the board of his distribution cooperative, the generation and transmission cooperative that serves it, and the board of AECI.

A rancher, now retired, Clark joined the board of Co-Mo Electric Cooperative Inc. in Tipton, Mo., in 1973, and was elected board president in 1978.

In 1973, Clark also was elected to serve on the board of Central Electric Power Cooperative. In 1974, he joined AECI's board of directors and has served as president since 1981.

Associated director Harold E. Jordan has served in cooperative governance since joining the board of Black River Electric Cooperative in Fredericktown, Mo., in 1976. He was elected to the board of M&A Electric Power Cooperative in 1977, and he joined AECI's board of directors in 1998 and serves as vice president.

A retired businessman who has owned and operated retail, construction and farming businesses, Jordan's association with cooperatives goes back to 1947. Working for a contractor, Jordan helped build 1,900 miles of line for Black River Electric Cooperative in four southeast Missouri counties, sometimes stringing three miles of line to bring electricity for the first time to one customer who had joined the cooperative and paid the $5 membership fee.

As a Realtor and developer in the Branson area, AECI director and Secretary R. Layne Morrill has seen firsthand the tremendous growth in the service territory of White River Valley Electric Cooperative Inc. A lifetime resident of the Branson/Lakes area, Morrill has served on White River's board since 1976, holding the office of secretary-treasurer. Morrill has represented White River's member-owners on the board of their power supplier, KAMO Power, since 1990, also serving as secretary-treasurer on that board. He represents KAMO on AECI's board, which he joined in 2002, and serves as secretary. In addition, his service includes the board of the Bank of Kimberling City, the Kimberling City Planning and Zoning Commission and the executive committee of the National Association of Realtors, of which he is a past president.

Associated built 1,633 megawatts of clean, gas-based generation to meet member peak demand, culminating construction with the Holden Power Plant in 2002. The 321-megawatt plant is in Johnson County, which is served by West Central Electric Cooperative Inc.

AECI Treasurer Charles C. Baile has served on West Central Electric Cooperative's board of directors since 1978, including terms as vice president and president. Since 1990, he has served on the board of NW Electric Power Cooperative, serving as vice president. He joined AECI's board in 1997.

A retired businessman and entrepreneur, Baile has owned service, real estate and farming businesses that have contributed to the development of the Warrensburg community.
