Meet Shawn, the mojo behind our mission

Chief Human Resources Officer Shawn Calhoun says the cooperative world is one of the best-kept secrets. Shawn’s own story includes 10 years with Associated, plus 24 years’ prior experience in human resources, leadership development, talent acquisition, change management, labor relations, succession planning and organizational assessment.

Associated’s culture continues to appeal to Shawn. “You just can’t beat the culture. I do think people genuinely care about each other and care about their communities. From an HR perspective, we’re fair to the employee. We’re doing the right thing by the employee and the member, … and that shows in our low turnover rates and strong engagement scores.”
