AECI names David J. Tudor new CEO and general manager
Associated Electric Cooperative announced today it has selected David J. Tudor to serve as its next CEO and general manager, effective May 16. Tudor will succeed Jim Jura, who has served as Associated’s CEO and general manager since 1991.

“The Associated board of directors conducted a national search and thoroughly evaluated many high-caliber candidates,” said Emery Geisendorfer, board president. “We believe David is the right leader at the right time for Associated Electric and its member systems. He is uniquely qualified to lead Associated into the next decade, using his combination of cooperative and energy industry experience.”
Tudor has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, including electric generation assets, wholesale commodity trading and utility management. Most recently he was president and CEO of Champion Energy Services, which was acquired by Calpine Corp. (NYSE: CPN) late last year and where he currently serves as senior advisor. Previously, Tudor was president and CEO of ACES Power, a cooperative-owned risk management company. Tudor currently is a director of Western Gas Partners LP (NYSE: WES) and Western Gas Equity Partners LP (NYSE: WGP) and is audit committee chairman for both.

Jura said he was pleased with the board’s decision and believes Tudor’s experience and skills are a great fit for Associated.
“David is a proven executive with a record of success in our industry. I am delighted with the board’s decision and I am excited about the value David will bring to our system,” Jura said. “In my remaining days at Associated, I am looking forward to working with the board, our senior management team and David to ensure an effective and smooth transition into a new era for our three-tiered system.”
Tudor is a graduate of David Lipscomb University, Nashville, Tennessee. He and his wife, Jenni, are the parents of daughters Kaylin and Avery.
